A recent survey by a leading car hire company has shown that over 33% of car hire customers intend to spend their Christmas overseas with loved ones. 30% of those travelling abroad said they would be hiring a car while 8% said that they had saved holidays throughout the year so they could have a prolonged Christmas break.
Geneva was voted the most popular Christmas destination with many people looking forward to getting in some skiing over the Christmas holidays. Others preferred to leave the cold behind and opt for short haul sunny destinations such as Majorca, Murcia, Alicante, Malaga, Faro and Seville.
The survey showed that many car hire customers are booking their rental cars earlier this year in order to grab the best deal possible.
